RADIAL is a sonic travelogue. The record blends live concerts from Japan, Thailand and Chile forming imaginary landscapes and celebrating subcultural networks around the globe. Voglsinger improvises with sine waves and noise generators sent through resonators, motors and membranes. Using open-source instruments for live sampling, he fuses these electro-acoustic elements with filtered field recordings captured with self-built microphones and preamps gathered during his travels. This practice moves the studio into the environment, unfolding through improvisation with unstable feedback systems and direct interaction with the surrounding context and spaces. RADIAL suggests that the practice of sharing with communities around the world, in the form of concerts, workshops and mutual exchange, be understood as an imaginative liminal space and a collective home.
